Private House Extension and Refurbishment
Romsey, Hampshire
A picture postcard thatched cottage located in a hamlet near Romsey. The kitchen had become dated and the cottage suffered from a lack of utility space and dining area. A rear extension and side extension were proposed. The rear extension is oak framed with a rolled lead roof and the side extension is more traditional brick, again with a rolled lead roof. The existing kitchen was enlarged internally and a bespoke new kitchen designed and installed. The rear extension is open plan to the existing kitchen and is home to the family dining area, also creating a much needed link to the gardens.
The cottage is grade 2 listed and so listed building consent and planning permission were obtained before commencing a full package of working drawings.
