David undertook his architectural studies at the University of Bath where he completed both his degree and masters in Architecture. David achieved a First Class honours degree, one of only two students in his year to do so. He also obtained both Part 1 and Part 2 of his professional examinations.

On leaving university David joined a respected practice of Architects in Portsmouth. Here he worked on a number of locally important schemes obtaining planning permission on several large residential schemes. David worked primarily on the early stages of the design process preparing designs for residential developments, care homes and even a new city in the Middle East! During this period David became familiar with the planning process and the many pitfalls to be avoided.

David’s last project with this practice, a residential development on a tight urban site, went on to win local design awards.

In 2008 David joined Richard and Martin at Engineering Architecture and helped continue to grow the practice, working on commissions of varying sizes along the south coast.

Shortly after, with the support of both Richard and Martin, David sat his professional examination gaining a diploma in Business management and chartered membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

David and Richard continue to work closely together on all projects giving a personal and professional service to every project however large or small.
